Red Key is an unlockable active item.
Effects
- While held, a red outline of a door will appear on walls which you can use Red Key on.
- Approaching one of these outlines and activating the item will make the outline solid, creating a door that leads to a red room.
- The red room can be several types of rooms, including but not limited to: regular enemy rooms, Curse Rooms, Treasure Rooms, and Devil Rooms.
Notes
- The red rooms have a physical presence on the floor unlike Devil Rooms or I AM ERROR rooms, and can be reentered at any time.
- Although a red room can be adjacent to more than one room, if the room type is one that requires something like a key, you will need to use a key for each side you try to enter the room.
- You can create another red room through another red room.
- However, if the red room Isaac is currently in is not connected to any regular rooms, and Isaac creates another red room that is also not connected to any regular rooms, that new room will be an I AM ERROR room that you cannot return from unless you have teleportation.
