Black Mushroom is an active item. The item has a short recharge time and can be used repeatedly in the same room increasing all the effects.
Effects
- Increases tear rate for the current room.
- Temporarily decreases movement speed and distorts the screen and sound.
- The movement speed decrease and distortion persists across rooms. The negative effects decrease at the rate of one Black Mushroom use per room cleared.
- If used too many times, the screen will become distorted to the point of unplayability.
Notes
- The more times Black Mushroom is used, the longer the cooldown becomes.
- This item originated from the Binding of Isaac: Community Remix mod.

- This item was renamed Wavy Cap when it was ported into Repentance. It was also buffed to keep the tears up between rooms as well as the negative effects.
